Basic Theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine is a cornerstone course for cultivating Chinese medicine talents. In the teaching process
teachers emphasize textbooks over scientific research
and students have to transform the way they think from logical reasoning to traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) ways of thinking. Against such background
responding to the national innovation policy of "new medical science" guiding medical education
and in line with the concept of training "innovative talents with TCM characteristics in the new era"
this study creates and puts into practice an innovative teaching and evaluation system for the course Basic Theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine based on integration of education with research. We elaborate the new system from its background
significance
ways of establishment
application and feedback
so that TCM education adheres to the right path and innovates when inheriting essence with more salient Chinese characteristics and better therapeutic effects.
