The exploration and implementation of various teaching methods of the course Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Philology is a key way to improve the teaching quality. The integrated method meets the teaching objectives and promotes the quality through multiple educational methods and technologies. This paper proposes an integrated approach to teaching suitable for TCM Philology based on a review of the status quo of the course and existing relevant research findings as well as the traditional teaching methods
and the new approach has yielded satisfying results. The specific implementation of the teaching process is as follows: full preparation before class
including conducting questionnaire survey and grouping students; optimized teaching plan in class
such as using multimedia resources with ideological and political significance
experiencing wood-block printing
reporting on relevant reading
and making discussions; and innovative assessment after class
including providing more choices in the final projects
placing more focus on the process of the project
and carrying out course outcome attainment survey. The application of such integrated teaching is of value and significance for innovating educational methods and enhancing quality
which can provide reference for relevant innovation of other basic and theoretical courses.
