The concept of "prevention first" in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is advanced and rational
which mainly involves three aspects
i.e. preventing the onset of disease
preventing case deterioration
and preventing relapse after recovery. This idea is highly consistent with the emphasis on the prevention of psychological diseases and the improvement of mental health literacy among college students in the new era of psychological education. To be specific
under the guidance of the TCM concept "prevention first"
such education should prevent diseases by comprehensively improving the mental health literacy of college students; prevent deterioration by better identification and assistance of students with psychological problems; and prevent relapse by establishing an effective psychological crisis intervention mechanism. This application is of great significance and should be further promoted and explored.
