One of research focuses in the reform of college teaching is how to integrate aesthetic education into professional courses. In response
our team constructed the teaching mode of "interaction
combination and integration" to carry out aesthetic education in the course Pharmacognosy. To be specific
interaction refers to knowledge interaction between aesthetic education and professional courses. Combination means taking into consideration students′ academic learning habits to formulate the teaching module of "discovering beauty-loving beauty-experiencing beauty-creating beauty" . Integration denotes incorporating teaching and learning
i.e. teachers and students work together to explore
interpret
appreciate
experience the beauty of professional knowledge
and to feel the beauty of the connection between such knowledge and life. Through on-site observation and follow-up interview
it was found that students enjoyed a high level of motivation and involvement with greater confidence in their major and better learning experience compared with the traditional ways of teaching.
