The core competencies for the development of Chinese students encompass the essential character traits and key skills necessary to adapt to lifelong development and societal needs. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Processing is a unique pharmaceutical technique in China
embodying the essence of Chinese traditional culture and human intellectual achievements. It serves as a specialized course for cultivating students′ core competencies. Integrating the theoretical teaching
experimental operations
and social practice modules of the TCM Processing course at our school
the course focuses on six aspects of core competencies: cultural heritage
scientific spirit
learning to learn
healthy living
responsibility
and practical innovation. A variety of teaching methods have been employed; these methods are comprehensively linked and explained in relation to students′ core competencies
providing a reference for how to embody educational principles in professional courses.
